Youth Handball Camps
Every beginning of the year, handball camps are organised annually in different areas like Bombo, Kibuli, Gombe and Luzira. These camps are run by different handball Coaches, Senior handball and former players to develop young and new talents into the game of handball.
The Camps run from January to February. These programs have been running for over 10 years and have brought into the handball Scenery different generations of good players. “The camps have helped in keeping the youth very busy and active during the holidays, given them a platform to expose their talents and coaches to practice their Skills,” Coach Imran stated.
Through these, many handball playing schools like Rhines, St. Lucia, Kakungulu Memorial School have emerged into the handball Scenery and the big gun schools like Gombe SS, Kibuli SS, clubs like Police, Prisons, UPDF among others use them as scouting avenues. Players like Ongom Francis, Ismah Kisalita, Felix Mukunzi among others all came through these camps.
Currently the Kibuli Camp is run by Coach Ssemujju Frank Wyne and Bazanye Ismail, Bombo Camp is by Mr. Brian Sseruhoji, Gombe by Coach Ojwe John Paul and Karuma Balaam, then the Luzira Camp by Coach Ayet Fred.
The Camps for this year were climaxed at Police Children School by the Kibuli and Bombo camps holding a joint event to show case to the Schools, Sports Tutors, Coaches and handball lovers the works of their hands.
