Ndejje falters to hand Nkumba women league title

Sunday was the day Ndejje university gave up its fight to defend their national league title, leaving Nkumba in an unchallengeable state, even with two matches remaining. This followed its loss to Kyengeza Bees in a tightly contested match that highlighted the day.  
Below is a roundup of all the action as it ensued on the weekend.

MATCHDAY 21 – Sunday 27/10/19

KYENGEZA 27[15] VS [07]21 UPDF LADIES
This interesting game broke-off the day Kyengeza leading both halves later winning by a 6 goals range. The player of the match was Namutosi Joyce from Kyengeza, a student from Mbogo High school. Top scorer: Nanyanga Bridget (Kyengeza)-12, Ayochan Annet (UPDF)-7, Tiperu Diana (UPDF)-7.

KAWANDA SS 28[17] VS [16]30 NKAJJA
After their loss to the Spears in the previous game, Nkajja shaped-up and hooked a win from Kawanda SS by a 2 goals difference. Kawanda’s Patricia Arago emerged the player of the match despite their loss. Top scorer: Drichiru.M (Kawanda)-7, Abiria Kalsum (Nkajja)-10.

PRISONS LADIES SPEARS 24[11] VS [10]21 UGANDA POLICE LADIES
The game ended in favour of Prisons leading all the halves and winning by 3 goals. The player of the match was Nalule Agnes (Keeper) from Prisons. Top scorer: Mumena Tausi (Prisons)-7, Namukasa Doreen (Police)-9

MAK LADIES 18[10] VS [25]51 NKUMBA TORNADOES
Both teams kept their ‘Runs’ Mak Ladies losing to the Tornadoes by 33 goals. Makerere however scored its highest goals in a single match this season. The player of the match and top scorer was Ondoa Doreen with 29 goals while Atwiine Grace scored 8 for Makerere.

NDEJJE LADY HOPPER 24[14] VS [19]26 KYENGEZA
It was a tight game the ‘Bees’ leading all halves later and winning by 2 goals,this being the first loss for the Hoppers since the 2nd round begun and sinking Ndejje’s chances of winning the league. Nanyanga Bridget conferred the player of the match honor after displaying a great play.
Top scorer: Isabwe Egidia (Ndejje)-6, Nantume Barbara (Ndejje)-6, Nanyanga Bridget (Kyengeza)-6, Dricharu Hellen (Kyengeza)-6

PRISONS SPEARS 37[13] VS [10]31 MAK BULLS
It was a do or die game that could determine prison’s chances of challenging for the league title, and they did with a 6 goals lead against the bulls. Despite their loss, Isma Kisalita emerged the player of the match after displaying a great play. Top scorer: Ojok Gilbert (Prisons)-10, Ayiko Joel (Mak)-8.

MATCHDAY 20 Saturday 26/10/19

NKAJJA 14[05] VS [08]17 NDEJJE LADY HOPPERS
It was the first game of the day Nkajja losing its 4th consecutive game to Ndejje by 3 goals. The player of the match was Isabwe Egidia from Ndejje Hoppers. Top scorer: Namagembe Amina (Nkajja)-7, Nantume Barbara (Ndejje)-6.

PRISONS LADY SPEARS 10[ ] VS [ ] 0 MAK LADIES
It was the first time for the away team to miss out for a game awarding 2 points to the Spears and obvious 10 goals awarded to the present team.

UGANDA POLICE 21[08] VS [06]13 KYAMBOGO HC
The two sides’ managers agreed their match to be played on this day despite not being on the day’s fixture. It was interrupted by the rains though it did not prevent the Anti-terrors to win the game by 8 goals Kangala Imuran from Police being the player of the match. Top scorer: Emasu Mark (Police)-5, Mugenyi. J (Kyambogo)-4.
