Ndejje and Nkumba University lead as 1st round ends
Friday 5th July marked the final match day for the 1st round of the national Handball league with four matches scheduled for the day, starting at 4:00pm
Ndejje University men Hoppers strengthened its self on top of the league table with a convicing53:26 win against new comers, Kyambogo University. Team top scorers were Ongom Francis-17(Ndejje) and Alivert Nuwehereza-6 (Kyambogo). The Player of the match went to Wamali Douglas aka Sub-Zero (Ndejje) with -1 goal, 3 assists and 22 saves. He becomes the first male goalkeeper to reach 20 saves in a match and archive this honor.
Nkumba University maintained their unbeaten ran to finish top of the women’s table with seven wins and one draw.
The league shall take a mid-season break from today 6th July until the 2nd round resumes on 7th September 2019. Mid-season activity, including transfers, trainings and other competitions will however keep going on and we shall endeavor to keep you posted.
