Kawanda SS Back To Their Winning Ways

 

The Second Week of the Uganda Handball league threw off with Six Matches at Police Children’s School – Kibuli, Kampala

Kawanda Secondary School 33 [14] Vs 29 [13] Updf Women

This was the 3rd game of the day as the Kawanda ladies bask back to their winning form after losing their previous encounter against Ndejje ladies; they grab a win from the army side. This raises back their hopes of the title race, as they lag behind Ndejje and Nkumba who are topping the ladies table.

It was the opening game of the army side in the 2nd Round and they hope to bounce back with a win in their next encounter against Mak Ladies.Player of the Match was Bako Shakira with 13 goals and 4 assists.

The other matches played were as follows;

Mak Bulls 28 [14] Vs 21 [10] Kyambogo Handball Club

The pending 10 minutes from match day 14 were played, being the first game at 9:00am, Mak Bulls won by 7 goals. Player of the Match was Kisalita Ismah with 6 goals and 10 assists.

 

Kyengeza Handball Club 17 [11] Vs 24 [10] Nkumba Tornadoes

The “BEES” begun with a thunderous strike leading the Tornadoes to the end of the 1st half by 1 goal, however they lost momentum and lost the play to the Tornadoes with a lead of 7 goals. Player of the Match being Aedeke Sharon with 4 goals and 7 assists.

 

Police Handball Club 29 [15] Vs 24 [10] Mak Bulls

The Police men continued with their winning Streak of the 1st round after beating the University side with a 5 lead margin. It was a tough afternoon for the “BULLS” after winning their morning University derby against Kyambogo. Player of the Match being Kangala Imuran with 8 goals and 5 assists.

 

Prisons Lady Spears 28 [16] Vs 27 [12] Ndejje University Lady Hoppers

This was a long awaited encounter between the two lady giants of handball as the Lady “Hoppers” took on the Lady “Spears”. It was an end to end tight game as the prison side won by a 1 lead margin raising back their hopes for the title race. Player of the match with Lamunu Scovia with 12 goals and 2 assists.

 

Uganda Police Ladies 42 [24] Vs 10 [5] Mak Ladies

This was the last match of the day that left great smiles on the fans’ faces with marvelous goals and moves well displayed by both teams. The Police Ladies emerged victorious with a 32 goal lead aided by Cynthia Akenyi a mid-season signing who was the player of the match, 9 goals and 6 assists.
